Client Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 27 July 2026
These Client Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of legal services provided through GoLegal ("BYLAW CONSULTANTS PVT. LTD.", "We", "Us", or "Our") by any individual or entity ("Client", "You", or "Your"). By accessing our website or mobile application or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Company: BYLAW CONSULTANTS PVT. LTD.
- Client: Any individual or organization availing services through GoLegal.
- Advocate: An independent legal professional registered with the appropriate Bar Council and associated with GoLegal.
- Services: Legal consultation, document drafting, legal notices, agreements, compliance, litigation support, registration services, and any other legal assistance offered by GoLegal.
2. Nature of Services
GoLegal is a technology-enabled legal services platform that connects clients with qualified legal professionals.
GoLegal may provide:
- Legal consultations
- Drafting of legal documents
- Legal notices
- Agreement preparation
- Company and business registrations
- Trademark, GST, FSSAI, MSME, and other registrations
- Litigation support
- Legal research and compliance services
The final legal opinion is provided by the assigned advocate based on applicable laws and facts submitted by the client.
3. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and truthful information.
- Submit genuine and valid documents.
- Cooperate with the assigned advocate.
- Respond promptly to requests for information.
- Keep login credentials confidential.
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
The Client shall be solely responsible for any consequences arising from false, misleading, incomplete, or forged information.
4. Advocate Assignment
GoLegal may assign an advocate based on the nature of the matter, location, specialization, and availability.
GoLegal reserves the right to change or reassign advocates whenever necessary for operational or professional reasons.
5. Consultation
Consultation is limited to the facts disclosed by the Client.
Any opinion provided shall not constitute a guarantee regarding the outcome of any legal matter.
6. Professional Independence
All advocates remain independent legal professionals.
Nothing contained in these Terms shall create an employer-employee relationship between GoLegal and any advocate.
Professional decisions shall remain solely with the advocate handling the matter.
7. Fees and Payments
The Client agrees to pay all applicable professional fees, government fees, taxes, filing charges, courier charges, and other applicable expenses.
Payment terms may include:
- Advance payment
- Milestone-based payment
- Full payment before document delivery
- Court-related expenses as applicable
All payments shall be made through authorized payment methods only.
8. Refund Policy
Professional fees already earned for services rendered shall generally be non-refundable.
Refunds, if applicable, shall be governed by GoLegal's Refund Policy and shall be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Government fees, statutory charges, court fees, stamp duties, and third-party expenses are non-refundable once paid.
9. Documents
The Client shall provide complete supporting documents whenever required.
GoLegal reserves the right to suspend services if required documents are not submitted within a reasonable time.
10. Timelines
Estimated timelines are indicative only.
Delays may occur because of:
- Government departments
- Courts
- Regulatory authorities
- Third-party agencies
- Incomplete documentation
- Force majeure events
GoLegal shall not be liable for delays beyond its reasonable control.
11. Confidentiality
GoLegal shall maintain reasonable confidentiality of client information except where disclosure is:
- Required by law;
- Ordered by a competent court or authority; or
- Necessary for providing legal services.
12. Intellectual Property
All drafts, templates, website content, software, logos, graphics, and proprietary material remain the intellectual property of GoLegal unless otherwise agreed in writing.
13. Communication
The Client consents to receiving communications through:
- SMS
- Telephone
- Mobile application notifications
Such communications may relate to service updates, payment reminders, document requirements, and case status.
14. Limitation of Liability
GoLegal shall exercise reasonable care while providing services.
However, GoLegal shall not be liable for:
- Court decisions
- Government actions
- Regulatory decisions
- Loss of profits
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Delays caused by third parties
- Outcomes based upon incomplete information provided by the Client
The maximum liability of GoLegal shall not exceed the professional fee actually received for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where prohibited by applicable law.
15. No Guarantee of Result
Legal matters depend upon facts, evidence, judicial interpretation, and applicable law.
Accordingly, GoLegal and its advocates do not guarantee any specific legal outcome.
16. Cancellation of Services
GoLegal reserves the right to suspend or terminate services if:
- False information is provided.
- Fraudulent activities are detected.
- Payments remain unpaid.
- The Client abuses or threatens staff or advocates.
- Services are sought for unlawful purposes.
17. Compliance with Law
The Client agrees to comply with all applicable laws while using the services.
GoLegal reserves the right to refuse any request that violates applicable law or professional ethics.
18. Force Majeure
GoLegal shall not be responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, internet failures, cyber incidents, pandemics, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events.
19. Modification of Terms
GoLegal reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time.
Updated Terms shall become effective upon publication on the official website.
Continued use of the services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.
Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of GoLegal, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to remain in full force and effect.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the complete understanding between GoLegal and the Client regarding the services and supersede all prior oral or written communications relating to the subject matter.
